The film and digital animation industry in Latin America already shows enormous economic potential: the animation market in the region alone reached approximately US$144T27.9 billion in 2024 and is projected to grow to more than US$144T66 billion by 2033.
Countries like Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, and Chile are already taking advantage of this wave to produce local content with an international presence, from animated feature films to television series and high-level visual effects.
The Pro-Art and Technology Foundation supports this change in Guatemala: we back audiovisual production and digital animation projects so that Guatemalan talent can participate in this global industry, generate employment, strengthen our cultural identity and turn local stories into worldwide successes.

— Video Game Design and Development
We support the development of video games as one of the most complete expressions of art and technology.
This industry combines storytelling, visual design, animation, music, programming, and strategy, offering enormous creative and economic potential for Guatemala.
From the Foundation, we promote projects that encourage the creation of video games made by Guatemalans, we provide strategic support and we seek to generate opportunities for training, financing and international visibility.
We believe that our creators can compete in large global markets and build stories that carry the spirit and creativity of Guatemala to the world.

— Augmented and Virtual Reality
We support the development and application of technological tools to connect past, present and future, transforming how we learn and experience culture in Guatemala.
From educational experiences to tourism proposals, we promote the responsible and innovative use of augmented, virtual and mixed reality as vehicles for learning, inclusion, and economic development.
One of the projects we support is KHAN, developed by Creativity Graph, a pioneering proposal that uses augmented reality applied to archaeological parks, and which also promotes a future vision in the production of filmed movies, animated films and television series.
Through alliances like this, the Foundation promotes the training of new generations of audiovisual creators and technicians, fostering national pride through productions with Guatemalan identity.

1. Specialized workshops
We promote the creation of academic programs and specialized workshops that strengthen the capabilities of artists, designers, programmers, and digital creatives.
2. Artistic scholarships
We will search for artistic talents with potential throughout Guatemala in order to provide them with all the necessary tools to develop in that field and guide them to find their own path of artistic expression, but prepared to compete internationally.
3. ProArtech Lab
We will open the Innovation Center and Creative Laboratory “ProArtech Lab”
A space where young people can experiment with new technologies, develop prototypes, receive mentoring, and collaborate with professionals.
4. University of Design and Technology
A visionary project that seeks to offer higher education in animation, design, video games and digital production.
It will be a space to prepare the next generation of artists and digital creators in the country.

We promote programs of artistic and technological training for future Guatemalan talents, regardless of their sex, age or socioeconomic level, especially for people in wheelchairs or with reduced mobility, helping them develop their talent and actively participate in the creative economy.

The Foundation will offer exhibition spaces, mentoring and support to emerging and established artists.

KAN – Seed of Innovation
“In the Mayan language, KHAN It means seed. And that's how this project was born: like a seed germinating in Guatemala to take art and culture to new dimensions. KHAN It's an augmented reality application that allows visitors to archaeological sites, museums, and cultural spaces to discover our history in a unique and interactive way. It already has a demo at the Kaminaljuyú archaeological site in Guatemala City and is preparing to expand to more locations and projects.”
